D.I.R.T. CAMP '09 IS GOING TO PI RANCH
Pi Ranch, on the beautiful East Fork of the Russian River, is the home of Gary and Kim Cavender. Their goal for Pi Ranch is “ENCOURAGEMENT, GROWTH, LOVE, & LEARNING!” Students from all over the west coast have enjoyed Pi Ranch. Now Gary and Kim Cavender have graceously invited us to bring DIRT Camp to this beautiful place (the pics above are from Pi Ranch).
Camp dates are set for July 27-August 1, 2009. Help us pray about the possibility of two camps back-to-back. Our plan is to impact the community of Ukiah, California with the serving love of Christ. In doing so, I believe we will naturally impact the lives of the students who participate. And yes, DIRT Camp Georgia is on schedule for June ‘09. Praise God!
 TWO NEW DIRT CREWS!
I am so excited to tell you about two new DIRT Crews. The first is Cornerstone Baptist in Trenton, Georgia. I had the priveledge of speaking to their students at the kick-off last month and it was awsome. Here is a pic of Zach Hurst and his wife Stephanie. I guess it is obvious that he is a youth pastor. They have really hit the ground running. Here is a comment from a recent email Zach sent...
"That day we did the Dirt Initiations, changed my life and the focus of the youth, and snowballed all the way to the adults. The adults that were there have not stopped talking about it. This is actually starting a little revival within the church. It's Great..."
The second new DIRT Crew is at Dutton Baptist Church in Dutton, Alabama. Chris Griggs is the youth pastor there. Chris is married to Heather and they have two boys,
Malachi and Isaac.
I just spoke to Chris on the phone and he shared with me a text he received from one of his studets who is very excited about getting into God's Word through journaling. He also said that there are some adults who are journaling as well! Please pray for these two new DIRT Crews as they "Get Their Hands Dirty".
BIG LOCK-IN THIS MONTH
On November 14 & 15, the Eastwood DIRT Crew is hosting a lock-in for multiple youth ministries to come and impact lives with the serving Love of Christ. What thrills me most is that this entire lock-in is being planned by the student leadership group consisting of high school and college students. I have seen the schedule and it is going to be awesome. This is open to any and all who want to participate. Please pray for amazing ministry to take place and for lives to be changed forever.
